About the app
KitchenLog is a recipe notebook with a cooking diary built in. Write a recipe down once, then log every time you cook it: how it turned out, what you changed and how long it took.
Attempt by attempt, you see which tweaks really made the dish better.
RECIPES YOUR WAY
- Title, source, servings, tags and a cover photo
- Ingredients and steps as simple lines you can reorder by dragging; pasted text is split into lines
- Tick off ingredients as you get them ready
- Search titles, ingredients, tags and your cooking notes
- Filter by tag, cooked or not yet cooked, and rating; sort by recent, rating, times cooked or title
A HISTORY FOR EVERY DISH
- Log an attempt with a rating from 0.5 to 10, what you changed, notes, minutes taken, servings and up to three photos
- Last time's changes are shown as a hint, and one tap reuses them
- A rating trend line shows whether the recipe keeps getting better
- Times cooked, best and average rating and average time for every recipe
COOK MODE
- One step per page in large, easy-to-read text, with your ingredients one tap away
- The screen stays on while Cook mode is open
- Write a time in brackets, like [10m], [45s] or [1h30m], and that step gets its own countdown timer
- Start, pause and reset timers; several can run at once, and timers from other steps stay pinned at the top
- When a timer ends you hear a short chime, even with the ringer on silent, and get a haptic tap, a message naming the step and a red "Time's up!" card. Timers live inside Cook mode; there are no notifications.
- Tap Finish to log the attempt with the cooking time already filled in
STATS
- Recipes, attempts and average rating
- How often you cooked in each of the last 12 months, and your average rating trend
- Most cooked and best-rated recipes
